Strong Start to the 36th Summer Mini Handball Championship
As part of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport’s commitment to supporting sports, discovering athletic talents, and contributing to the development of a healthy and capable generation prepared for competition and excellence, the 36th Summer Mini Handball Championship kicked off on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The championship was held from August 27 to September 5, 2026, at the AASTMT Main Campus in Abu Qir, Alexandria.
The championship witnessed the participation of 169 teams, competing across three stages, and attracted a large audience, with approximately 12,000 to 15,000 attendees throughout the championship. The attendees included players, coaches, administrators, parents, and a number of public figures.
The championship also witnessed the presence of several prominent public figures and officials, including the Minister of Industry and the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Health Affairs, in addition to a number of public figures.
A number of Egypt’s leading sports clubs participated in the championship, including Al Ahly, Zamalek, National Bank of Egypt, Sporting, El Maadi, New Giza, El Tayaran, Smouha, Heliopolis, Ashab El-Giad, Bakous, Delphi, Sheikh Zayed, Gezira El-Ward, Ghazl El-Mahalla, Nasr City, Tala’ea El-Geish, 23 July, El-Olympi, El-Said El-Masry, and Baladeyet El-Mahalla.
The championship featured an outstanding sporting atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm, strong competition, and teamwork. The young players demonstrated remarkable technical abilities, promising skills, and great enthusiasm on the court, reflecting their passion for handball and their commitment to developing their sporting abilities.
The championship also included the Technical Meeting, during which the various organizational and technical aspects of the competition were reviewed and discussed. Emphasis was placed on providing an appropriate environment for all participating teams and players, ensuring that the championship was conducted to a high organizational and technical standard.
The championship reflects AASTMT’s commitment to supporting sports activities, encouraging young people to practice sports, and discovering and developing athletic talents, contributing to the preparation of future generations capable of competing and achieving further sporting success.
