Report on Strategic Partnerships Between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Sports Clubs

Introduction
As part of efforts to support and develop the Egyptian sports system, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) hosted, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, a ceremony at its Alamein Branch to sign several cooperation protocols with three prominent sports clubs: Alexandria Sporting Club, Smouha Sporting and Social Club, and El Zohour Sporting Club.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Jawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT, as well as a number of Academy leaders and representatives and board members of the participating sports clubs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Objectives of the Partnerships
The cooperation protocols aim to strengthen collaboration between educational and sports institutions and to make effective use of the available expertise and resources of both sides in the fields of sports and youth development.
The partnerships also seek to provide athletes and young people with greater opportunities to benefit from educational, scientific, technological, and training resources, while promoting integration between academic education and professional sports careers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Supporting and Developing Athletes
The Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized that developing an Egyptian champion is not limited to winning medals and achieving sporting success. It also involves building a well-rounded personality capable of continuing to succeed both on and off the field.

The Academy's Vision
Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT, confirmed that the Academy's vision is fully aligned with the Ministry of Youth and Sports' strategy of investing in the capabilities of Egyptian youth. He also expressed his appreciation for these partnerships with national sports institutions.
He highlighted that the Academy places its technological, educational, and sports capabilities at the service of Egyptian and Arab youth and national sports institutions.
