Activities of Ramadan courses at the Academy's main headquarters 2025/2026

Introduction

Within the framework of the strategy of the Arab Academy for science, technology and maritime transport aimed at supporting sports and student activities and developing the physical and social abilities of its students, the Academy organized at its headquarters in Alexandria the activities of the annual Ramadan session during the holy month of Ramadan, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, president of the Arab Academy for science, technology and maritime transport, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Majid Khalaf, Director of sports departments at the branches of the Academy.

The course was organized based on the Academy's keenness to consolidate the concept of sports as one of the main pillars in building the student's personality, promoting the values of belonging and teamwork, and creating an integrated university environment that combines academic excellence and sports activities.

Course objectives

The Ramadan session sought to achieve a number of goals, most notably:

* Promote the practice of sports among the students of the Academy.

* Developing the spirit of fair competition and commitment to sports ethics.

* Support communication and interaction between students of different colleges.

* Discovery of sports talents and the opportunity to highlight their abilities.

* Investing the holy month of Ramadan in organizing purposeful sports activities that contribute to the development of team spirit and belonging to the institution.

Tournament organization

The activities of the tournament were carried out according to an integrated organizational plan prepared by sports affairs, which included the preparation of stadiums, the organization of match schedules, the formation of technical and administrative committees, the provision of Arbitration crews, to ensure the proper conduct of competitions and achieve the highest standards of organization.

Tournaments included in the tournament

First: the fifteenth Ramadan cycle of futsal The tournament was held on the cup of Professor Dr./ Mohammed Ali Hassan-may God rest his soul, and witnessed a wide participation from the students of the academy, where the number of participants reached 512 students representing 64 teams from various colleges. The championship competitions were held by the group system in the first stage, with (16) groups, each group includes four teams, and (32) teams qualified for the elimination rounds, which were held by a knockout system until the final match.

The tournament also witnessed the participation of seven teams from the Academy's staff, and their competitions were held in a one-round league system, with prizes and financial rewards allocated to the winning teams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second: the second Ramadan volleyball tournament

The tournament witnessed the participation of 76 students representing 12 teams from various faculties of the academy, and the competitions were held in a knockout system, in an atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm, commitment and sports spirit, and contributed to enhancing cooperation and teamwork among the participants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Third: the padel Championship

The course also included the padel Championship, as part of the sports administration's plan to diversify sports activities and provide students with the opportunity to participate in various sports, which contributes to expanding the base of sports practice within the Academy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inspection visit of the president of the Academy

His Excellency Dr. Ismail Abdul Ghaffar Ismail Faraj, president of the academy, was keen to make a field visit to follow up the activities of the Ramadan course, where he inspected the competitions and met with the participating students, and congratulated them on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. He also listened to their opinions on the organization of the championship, praised the commitment, sports spirit and outstanding technical level, stressing the Academy's continued support for sports activities as a key element in building the student's personality and developing the spirit of belonging and cooperation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Closing ceremony

The activities of the Ramadan session were concluded amid a distinguished festive atmosphere, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdul Majid Khalaf, Director of sports departments, and Mr. Mahmoud Muhammad Ali, one of the Sons of the late Dr. Muhammad Ali Hassan – may God rest his soul. The closing ceremony included honoring the winning teams in various tournaments, handing over cups, sports kits and financial rewards, in addition to honoring Mr. Mahmoud Mohammed Ali with the Academy shield in recognition of his participation in the conclusion of the tournament. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Majid Khalaf also conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the president of the academy to all participants, praising the outstanding technical level and the spirit of honest competition that prevailed in all competitions, and stressing the continued support of the sports administration for such events that contribute to building the integrated personality of students.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Results and indicators

The Ramadan cycle resulted in the achievement of many positive results, most notably:

* Active participation of students of various faculties of the Academy.

* Promote a culture of sports practice among students.

* Consolidate the values of belonging and teamwork.

* Discovery of a number of promising mathematical elements.

* Organizational and technical success that reflects the efficiency of sports management.

* Providing a distinguished model for university sports events in line with the vision of the Academy in the development of student activities. Recommendations

* Continuing to organize the Ramadan cycle on an annual basis.

* Increase the number of participating sports.

* Expanding the participation base to include all branches of the Academy.

* Development of prizes provided to the winning teams.

* Documenting the events of the championship more informally.

* Organizing workshops and sports lectures accompanying the championships.

Ninth: conclusion

This year's Ramadan session confirmed its great success at the organizational and technical levels, as it combined purposeful sports competition and the family spirit that characterizes the academy community. The wide participation of students and members of the Academy reflected the extent of their interest in sports activities, and also proved the success of the sports administration in organizing an integrated sports event that achieves the goals of the Academy in building the student's personality, enhancing the values of belonging, cooperation and excellence. The sports department looks forward to further developing this championship in the coming years, which will contribute to consolidating the Academy's position as one of the leading institutions in supporting university sports and student activities.
