By the end of this course, learners will be able to: 1. identify main contexts of ESP work (academic, professional and the workplace); 2. analyze and explore the applications of ESP theory to the workplace; and 3. assess and evaluate the relationship between General English and ESP workplaces.

Objectives

  • The course aims at exploring the main issues and concepts related to the historical development of ESP. It also provides a general survey of the field of ESP. Additionally, it investigates the main contexts of ESP work in different academic, professional and workplace contexts.
