As all the programs offered, the Egyptian archaeology track is composed of a core curriculum, a concentration and electives. As of the third and fourth years, the elective courses can be grouped into archaeology or philology. If students wish to continue in the same specialization in their graduate studies, students may choose one group or the other. Students also have the freedom to mix between both if they are interested.

  • • Attain adequate knowledge of Ancient Egypt. • Conduct proper research using the different skills learnt through library research, museums and field work. • Argue theoretical and applied knowledge of philology, excavation and applied sciences related to the study of Ancient Egypt. • Reflect on the challenges of the 21st Century pertaining to the Ancient Egyptian cultural heritage in the global perspective. • Relate to site and museum management, preservation and conservation challenges of the Ancient Egyptian Heritage. • Formulate an academic opinion on the different dynamics of preserving the cultural heritage and development for sustainable safeguard of the Ancient Egyptian culture heritage.

مختصر

Egyptian Archaeology is the systematic study of the history, art, architecture, culture, literature, science and technology and religion of Ancient Egypt from the Prehistoric Period until the Arab Conquest in 640 AD. This program will provide students with the different critical perspectives needed to be able to actively participate in the research, preservation and management of Egypt’s cultural heritage..

متطلبات القبول

a. Completion of secondary education certificate or equivalent certificates according to the particular requirements of each major. b. Meeting the minimum score required to join the college which is announced before the beginning of each semester, in light of the minimum score mandated by AASTMT, as well as the annually announced terms, regulations and qualifying courses per certificate as specified by the Supreme Council of Education Affairs. c. Being physically fit as per stipulated levels. d. Showing good conduct with no dishonouring judicial sentence issued against them. e. Submission of all required admission documents. f. Approval of delegating entities in case of student’s delegation from any country or authority. g. Passing admission exams determined by AASTMT. h. Pledging to follow AASTMT rules and regulations.
