• e course aims at exploring the theoretical, epistemological, and methodological approaches to cultural heritage. The course will explore how cultural heritage is defined and discover the different themes of cultural heritage practices in terms of defining, managing, interpreting, claiming, representing, and utilizing in the multiple contexts that cultural heritage presents. Heritage consumption and heritage manipulation will also be key themes to be explored. The course also puts cultural heritage in the interdisciplinary context between history, social history, cultural anthropology, archaeology, economics, development environmental studies, philosophy, and law. Discussions over space, knowledge and identity will take place relating to the complex concept of cultural heritage.
