• is course aims at offering a comprehensive overview of cultural and societal issues in the ancient Egypt. The series of fifteen lectures will deal with themes in the daily life of ancient Egyptian people, from birth to death and the afterlife, economic issues, sickness and medicine, disabilities, gender and minorities, community life, urban and countryside social and economic network. Little will be devoted to specific religious issues that are treated in another course. The course will allow student to have a broader understanding of social and cultural dynamics in ancient Egypt through the analysis of archaeological, literary and documentary evidence and will enable the students to develop critical thinking for historiography..
