• is course aims at providing preliminary knowledge of the history of Greece and Rome in the Classical period, from the 8th century BCE to the 5th century AD. It also aims at providing information on the sources available for the reconstruction of the history of the period and on how to use them: historiographical texts, documents, archaeological reports. The course aims also at introducing the main themes and issues in a geographical and diachronic context..
