• is course is a field concentrated practical field-school that are taken in the site of excavation or survey by AASTMT or any of their partner institutions. The course will focus on site practical techniques to develop students’ skills in site survey, excavation methodology, methods and techniques. The survey techniques will focus on using of a total station to map a site and draw the different features manually and on AutoCAD. The excavation part of the fieldwork will focus on stratigraphy and layers interpretation, objects interpretation and objects registration and cataloguing. The evenings of the fieldwork season will be composed Course content may change and vary depending on the site under investigation. The aim of this course is to introduce students not only to the practical scientific excavation of an archaeological site, but also how to collaborate with their colleagues in the field, how to follow health and safety regulations, and to work in desert or mud areas..
