• is course aims at providing the student with an overview of the literary production of ancient Egypt. The course will introduce the different literary genres from religious compositions to royal inscriptions, from narrative texts to autobiographies, love poems, hymns, lamentations and instructions. The students will be able to appreciate the variety of production and styles, and through the texts will learn more about the ancient Egyptian society that produced them..
