The IEEE Student Chapter at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) serves as a dynamic student platform that fosters innovation and technological excellence among students.
Through organizing workshops, events, and competitions in engineering, programming, and modern technology, the chapter empowers students to develop their technical and leadership skills.
It also contributes to preparing a generation of engineers and programmers capable of keeping pace with scientific advancements and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative technological solutions.
Vision:
The IEEE Student Branch at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology should be a leading platform to empower the Academy’s students in the fields of technology, engineering and innovation, and enhance the Academy’s position as a distinguished center for scientific research and technological creativity at the local and international levels.

The IEEE Student Branch aims to develop students’ scientific and practical skills in modern technology fields, through organizing workshops, competitions and technical events, supporting innovation and digital entrepreneurship, and contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through creative engineering solutions provided by the academy’s students.

Quarter Tech Talk Table Series
The Quarter Tech Talk Table Series 14.0 was hosted at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) – College of Engineering and Technology, Main Campus Alexandria, in collaboration with five partner organizations.
Held on August 29, 2024, this marked the 2nd International Edition in Egypt, featuring the theme “Beyond the Hype: Exploring Technology’s Real Impact.” The event brought together 30+ participants from across Egypt for an engaging discussion on technology awareness, innovation, and career development. Organized in partnership with IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE SSIT (UAT Technical Committee), IEEE HKN Mu Beta Chapter, IEEE YP Egypt Section, and IEEE TV, the session offered diverse perspectives on emerging technologies. All attendees received a certificate of participation as part of this impactful and collaborative tech dialogue.

From Circuits to Robots: IEEE AAST Inspires Students through “Robotics from Zero to Hero” Event On 5/8/2024
The "Robotics from Zero to Hero" is a 4-day hands-on event organized by the IEEE AAST Alexandria Student Branch at AASTMT, with over 50 participants.
It takes attendees on an exciting journey from the fundamentals of electronics and programming to the design and construction of fully functional robots. Throughout the four days, participants engage in interactive workshops, teamwork activities, and friendly competitions that spark creativity and innovation. All attendees proudly received an official certificate of completion recognizing their achievement.

IEEE-Yesist12 is a two tier global competition with five different tracks over two phases. The prelim stage will be hosted by College of Engineering and Technology at Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport Abu Kir. The prelim will be conducted during 19-20 April 2024. Finalists from each track will compete in the global finale which will take place in hybrid mode in September 2024 in Tunisia. IEEE AAST students organized the first scientific research competition for university students in Egypt on: 11/10/2023
Within the framework of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport’s interest in developing the skills of its students and graduates and preparing them in a way that keeps pace with the requirements of the labor market inside and outside Egypt... as well as participating in various international scientific societies... and under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag... President of the Academy and under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abu Al-Azm, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs... The students of IEEEAAST organized the first scientific research competition for university students in Egypt under the supervision of the Department of Cultural and Social Activities, on Friday 11/10/2023, which included about 200 students from the campaign. The bachelor’s and master’s degrees who competed in submitting research papers. The day began with an academy speech delivered by Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Al-Azm - Dean of Student Affairs, then a speech by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz - Head of the Electronics and Communications Engineering Department and supervisor of the IEEE Society at the academy... Then the projects were presented. And research papers, and honoring the winners, speakers, and the jury...in addition to eating lunch in the main restaurant of the academy. The attendees and participants in the competition praised the academy’s capabilities and the organization of today’s sections. All thanks to our sons, the students of the IEEE Society, at the level of organization, which is not new to them, and special thanks to our colleagues in the Department of Cultural and Social Activities, the Security Department, and the Department of Security. Appreciation for their contribution to the emergence of the Academy in a decent and always honorable manner, and special thanks to His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag - President of the Academy for his constant support of our students in the branches of international scientific societies at the Academy, which places the Academy in a leadership position among educational institutions.
