Regulations Accommodation

Regulations Accommodation in the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport targets the students who wish to reside on the Academy’s premises and aims at providing a social, educational, cultural and sporting environment that benefits all

  1. Meals are provided according to a schedule. If missed, they are not compensated.

  2. Leaving and returning to the dorms at any time during the day or night are regulated according to a time schedule. Exceptions are only made after obtaining permission or a medical excuse.

  3. All electrical devices, except laptops and mobile phones, are prohibited.

  4. Valuables and money are deposited with the supervising team in the building. Otherwise, in case they are lost, students hold full responsibility.

  5. Money can be deposited and reclaimed from 8.0 a.m. to 4.0 p.m.

  6. Electrical devices can be deposited and reclaimed from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

  7. Any damages of any kind to the room are the student’s responsibility.

  8. For a fee, students can have their clothes washed and ironed in the Laundry. (Enclosed are the washing and ironing fees).

  9. Each group residing in a room are handed one key to the room. Each student is handed his/her own closet key. In case the key is lost, the student makes another copy at his/her own expense.

  10. At the end of the accommodation period, students submit their room and closet keys, and they do not have the right to claim the money they paid for the copy of the key.

  11. Alcoholic beverages of any kind are prohibited in the room.

  12. Students must not be present in a room other than their designated room of accommodation.

  13. The door of the room must not be left open if there are no students in the room.

  14. Designated rooms of accommodation can only be changed after referring to the supervising team in the building.

  15. Complying with the dress code when exiting or entering the building is a must.

  16. Items of personal hygiene are provided only once per week for each room. Weekly, each student is handed one toilet paper roll and one bar of soap.

  17. Students must not be present in their rooms from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. since housekeeping and maintenance take place then.

  18. Students may not return to their dorms after 10 p.m.

  19. No visitors from outside the Academy or from any other building are allowed inside the rooms.

  20. Eating and cooking are prohibited inside the rooms.
