The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has been a leading regional institution in maritime education, training, and research since its establishment. Building on this maritime foundation, AASTMT launched higher postgraduate studies in maritime-related fields in 1994 to support advanced academic and professional development.
The Maritime Postgraduate Studies Institute (MPI) was established as an independent institute in 2014 to strengthen postgraduate maritime education and research and to respond more effectively to developments in the maritime sector.
Today, MPI contributes to advanced knowledge in maritime transport, maritime safety and security, climate change, sustainable blue economy, coastal resources, maritime law and governance, and doctoral maritime research. The institute supports AASTMT’s role in serving Egypt, the Arab region, Africa, and the wider international maritime community.
