A) COMETENCIES OF ENGINEERING GRADUATE
The Engineering Graduate must be able to:
1. Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying engineering fundamentals, basic science, mathematics, numerical methods, and computer based methods or IT technology.
2. Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation and/or simulation, analyze and interpret data, assess and evaluate findings, and use statistical analyses and objective engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
3. Apply engineering design processes to produce cost-effective solutions that meet specified needs with consideration for global, cultural, social, economic, environmental, ethical and other aspects as appropriate to the discipline and within the principles and contexts of sustainable design and development.
4. Utilize contemporary technologies, codes of practice and standards, quality guidelines, health and safety requirements, environmental issues and risk management principles.
5. Practice research techniques and methods of investigation as an inherent part of learning and demonstrate basic organizational and project management skills.
6. Plan, supervise and monitor implementation of engineering projects, taking into consideration other trades requirements and share knowledge and skills with engineering community and industry.
7. Function efficiently even in stressful situations as an individual, a member or a leader of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
8. Communicate effectively graphically, verbally and in writing with a range of audiences using contemporary tools.
9. Use creative, innovative and flexible thinking, IT technologies, and acquire entrepreneurial and leadership skills to anticipate and respond to new situations.
10. Acquire and apply systematic and new knowledge, and practice self, lifelong and other learning strategies.
 
B) ELECTRICAL ENGINEERIG
In addition to the Competencies for All Engineering Programs (the BASIC ELECTRICAL Engineering), the electronics and communications graduate and must be able to:
1. Analyze and design control and electrical power systems, then , model and analyze electrical power systems applicable to the specific discipline by applying the concepts of: generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power systems.
2. Design, model, analyze and synthesize an electrical / electronic / digital /communication system or component for a specific application and identify the tools required to optimize this design.
3. Design and implement: elements, modules, sub-systems or systems in electrical/electronic/digital/communication engineering using technological and professional tools, while considering the constraints of applying inappropriate technology and the needs of commercial risk evaluation.
4. Estimate and measure the performance of an electrical/electronic/digital/communication system and circuit or equipment under specific input excitation, and evaluate its suitability for a specific application.
5. Adopt suitable national and international standards, specifications, codes and computer programs to: design, build, operate, repair, inspect and maintain electrical/electronic/digital equipment, systems and services.
 
C) ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERIG
The ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS Engineering graduate must specifically be able to:
1. Apply critical thinking to identify, formulate, analyze, and solve complex engineering problems related to the design and application of electronic and communication systems, to reach substantiated conclusions.
2. Determine requirements and develop specifications for electronic and communication systems.
3. Conduct investigations related to electronic and communication systems using methods that include appropriate research and experimentation, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to reach substantiated conclusions.
4. Evaluate, verify and validate electronic systems against specifications and requirements.
5. Creatively transform ideas and concepts into robust technical solutions that meet stakeholder requirements specifically considering health and safety risks, applicable standards, and economic, environmental, cultural and societal constraints.
6. Design, model, analyze, simulate, implement, and integrate electronic communication, biomedical, microwave, and optical systems hardware and software to realize solutions that conform to design specifications and stakeholder requirements.
7. Create, , adapt, and extend appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools for the design, analysis, simulation, evaluation, and implementation of electronic and communication systems, and apply them appropriately giving consideration to their associated limitations.
8. Apply concepts of human relations and organizational behavior to establish and maintain effective relationships using leadership, interpersonal, group dynamics and conflict resolution skills across diverse teams and groups.
9. Interpret professional, ethical, and legal codes of practice required to be in compliance with industrial, labor and environmental legislation, and to protect the public and public interest.
10. Integrate technical skills and knowledge with current business practices to provide economically sound solutions to product realization problems.
11. Effectively manage enterprise resources and risk through the application of project management principles and techniques.
12. Identify and address individual needs for continuing education and professional development to maintain technical and professional competence, and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
