a. Demonstrate a high level of autonomy, professional accountability and ethical conduct through the application of design, research and project management techniques while concurrently displaying an awareness of professional engineering practice.
b. Investigate, analyze and synthesize problem solving, design and decision-making methodologies to identify complex problems in both the maritime and wider engineering fields, e.g. entrepreneurship, and to formulate innovative solutions with intellectual independence.
c. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering principles and management methods to solve complex engineering problems.
d. Rationally apply high level knowledge and skills underpinning the maritime engineering discipline, with an advanced, integrated understanding of complex maritime systems using critical thinking and judgment, while highly considering public occupational health and safety procedures, cultural, environmental and social constraints.
e. Investigate, analyze and synthesize abstraction to complex problems in the maritime sector whilst concurrently considering the implications of the solution in a global and sustainable context using appropriate engineering methods and tools.
f. Practice appropriate techniques, resources and tools to broadly mechanical and electrical engineering activities including manufacturing, installations, conversions and maintenance.
g. Demonstrate thorough understanding of leadership techniques, business practices and entrepreneurship.
h. Review personal performance as a means of managing continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
