Program Description

The program preparing and establishing is funded by the European Union (through A TEMPUS program which stands for Trans-European Mobility Scheme for University Studies). The project is called JAMILA which stands for Joint mAster of Mediterranean Initiatives on renewabLe and sustAinable. The program is prepared in cooperation between three European universities (University of Cadiz in Spain, Northumbria University in England and Sapienza University of Rome which is the main coordinator in Italy) and three universities from Egypt (Ain Shames University, Alexandria University and Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport).

Learning Outcomes

  • Due to high competition, sometimes professional engineers would work towards the MSc qualification while they need to develop the required competence. Additional potential advantages can be summarized as follows:  Assists in developing knowledge and workforce skills, for advancing competitive economy.  Provides a platform to develop business and professional skills / capabilities.  Offers potential successful engineering models that enable development of new technologies, innovative methods and problem-solving skills.

Markets and Career

  • Finally, the main purpose of developing such Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering (REEE) program to prepare graduates with professional skills of this field. Actually, the Middle Eastern countries will be -shortly- impacted by all these market’s changes and high competition. Therefore, we need to be ready for all these challenges by upgrading our postgraduate education system.

As part of the continuous development of the postgraduate programs obtained by the College of Engineering and Technology, the college has developed a Master level program that integrates advanced learning fields in engineering with professional development. Successful completion of this program results in obtaining MSc degree in Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering (REEE). The route is to achieve the professional qualifications, as well as enhancing practical skills and advanced knowledge in engineering field.
