Environmental toxicology and Risk Assessment

  • Electrical & Control Engineering |

Description

The course highlights on the toxic Versus Nontoxic, Exposure and Dose, Evaluation of Toxicity, Responses to Toxic Substances, Carcinogens, Mutagens, Teratogens, Chemical Toxicity, The Concept of Risk Assessment, The Process of Risk Assessment and Ecological Risk Assessment.

Program

Renewable Energy and Environmental Engineering (REEE)

Objectives

  • This course concerned with both the adverse effects of chemicals on health and the conditions under which those effects occur. A natural outgrowth of biology and chemistry, toxicology began to assume a well-defined shape in just the past four to five decades. Newer still, environmental toxicology is concerned with the effects of chemical contaminants on various ecological systems, both large and small. This course also presents with two types of risk assessment (health-based risks and ecological risks)
