Academic Standing in AAGSB - Academic Standing

AAGSB students must remain in good academic standing by meeting the following three academic conditions:

  1. The minimum satisfactory grade for any course is 2.0 or (C). Grades below (B) can be offset by grades above (B), but the GPA must reach 3.0 or above in order to qualify a student for a degree.
  2. All students must adhere to the study timetable and must successfully meet other specified requirements pertaining to attendance and participation.
  3. Students’ academic records are reviewed under the following conditions:

Failure to maintain a GPA of 3.0 at any time during the period of study.

  • Failure to adhere to the timetable or other requirements as indicated in the course outline distributed by the instructor at the beginning of the semester.
  • Failure to complete the required number of credit hours.
  • In case of not fulfilling the above-mentioned academic requirements: the academic review process begins with placing the student under Academic Probation for the next semester. The student will be notified of that decision.
  • If the student is not able to adjust his/her GPA by end of the next semester, he/she would be prevented from registring any new courses until the conclusion of the GPA Adjustment Process.
  • A student can register a maximum of 3 courses to improve his/her GPA.
  • Failure to improve the GPA by the specified time may result in the termination of a student’s degree candidacy.
  • The AAGSB Academic Committee (GSBAC) may assess the student''s academic progress and review his/her instructors’ recommendation before granting his/her ‘GPA Improvement Petition ’, provided that the outcome of the assessment process was satisfactory.
