This course provides indepth knowledge of HVDC transmission systems’ new converter topologies, devices and control. Moreover, the course discusses relevant stability and protection issues. Also it includes applications to renewable energy systems.

  • Presenting recent developments in the area of VSC_HVDC systems.  Introduces students to Protection, stability and reliability issues in HVDC systems.  Outlines and discusses the role of HVDC systems in integrating renewable energy systems.
