This course provides a comprehensive study of high voltage engineering principles, technologies, and applications. It covers methods for generating high-voltage DC, AC, and impulse voltages and currents, along with techniques for accurate high-voltage measurements. Students will examine sources of transients in power systems, traveling waves, and the use of lattice diagrams for wave analysis. The course also addresses insulation systems, surge arresters, high-voltage circuit breakers, and gas-insulated switchgear. Furthermore, it introduces insulation coordination, testing practices, and an overview of HVDC systems. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical understanding and practical applications in modern power networks.
