Duration and Academic Requirements The program adheres to specific timeframes (minimum and maximum durations) within which the student must complete all degree requirements. Students are required to successfully complete the prescribed number of credit hours and coursework while maintaining a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) that meets academic quality standards. Furthermore, students must ensure that the number of courses completed with the minimum passing grade does not exceed the permissible limit.
The Research Thesis The preparation of a scientific thesis is a fundamental requirement for the degree. The thesis must satisfy the designated research credit hours, present original research and analytical results, and is subject to defense and evaluation by specialized committees.
Passing and Failing: Specific grades are required to successfully pass courses. A student is considered to have failed a course if their grade falls below the minimum requirement or if their absenteeism exceeds the allowable percentage without a valid excuse.
Retaking Examinations: Limited opportunities are granted to retake course examinations in the event of failure. In the case of passing the second attempt, the recorded grade is capped at a pre-determined maximum, regardless of the actual score achieved.
The College Council and the relevant Department retain the authority to cancel a student's registration in cases indicating a lack of academic progress. These cases include:
Exceeding the maximum allowable duration of study without obtaining the degree.
A decline in the CGPA or repeated course failure in violation of academic regulations.
A recommendation from supervisors to terminate registration for valid academic reasons.
Absolute rejection of the thesis by the examination panel.
Upon the student's request for withdrawal.
The degree is awarded upon the fulfillment of all academic and research requirements. The official certificate shall state the specific specialization and the title of the accepted thesis.
