Welcome to the College of Computing and Information Technology, Heliopolis Campus. The College was founded over a decade and a half ago to serve the educational needs of the Arab region and the African continent. The College is equipped with the latest laboratories and staffed by faculty of the highest caliber to ensure that it provides exceptional service to its students.
The College has five educational departments and offers some specialized courses to other College departments, in addition, ABET accreditation is held by two departments at the College. Some departments in the College offer both Diploma and MSc degrees in order to provide an integrated educational experience spanning both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
The ongoing advancement of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems, Cloud computing, Cybersecurity, Blockchain technology, and Big Data Analytics poses a double challenge to the College in terms of learning and teaching methods and practices. The College consistently update the syllabi of its courses in light of the changes that evolving technologies are constantly bringing to the computing field to ensure that they meet the latest pedagogical requirements and market needs. This emphasis on innovative course delivery methods enables it to respond quickly to changing environments.
The College actively reshapes its programs and curricula to prepare students for the challenges of professional life and the corporate world. This already exists in various forms of collaboration between universities and companies for professional training and experiential learning. Furthermore, the College regularly holds consultancy meetings with a prestigious industrial advisory board to ensure that its curriculum meets the needs of the industry, which is one of its core constituents. It also provides many opportunities for professional and practical training and makes such training a graduation requirement, ensuring that its graduates are exposed to both academic materials as well as practical experience. The educational journey culminates in a capstone project that allows College students to implement practical solutions to real-world problems.
With the same paradigm, postgraduate degrees at the College provide opportunities for world-class research, with funding and support provided by industry, governmental organizations, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport itself.
