Objectives
Architecture Our environment is shaped not only by designers but also by a broad range of social, ethical, economic and regulatory forces. And the environment in turn helps to shape our physical, social, emotional, and spiritual lives. To make responsible design decisions, we must understand the perceptions, experiences, expectations and competencies of those for whom we design. We must likewise understand those larger social and cultural forces that influence and constrain what we are able to accomplish as architects. AHB is designed to introduce you to the range of factors and concepts underlying the complex relationships between people and the designed environment. These include exploration and analysis of buildings in psychological, social and cultural terms, utilization of environmental design research literature, and systematic application of knowledge in programming and evaluation. And Human Behaviour
