Accreditation

The IMO Compound of the AASTMT was established in 2005 to support the members of the league of Arab States in technical support and capacity building of personnel of Maritime administrations and seafarers of management levels and operation levels including shipping companies’ personnel. The following accreditation were the base of establishment of the IMO Compound:

  • The Arab Ministers of Transport Council Decision number 250/2005 concerning the Arab Academy represents LAS in the International Maritime Organization (IMO).


  • The Arab Ministers of Transport Council Decision number 415/2015 concerning the Suitability of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport Action plan to activate its role in the International Maritime Organization.


  • The Ministry of Transport of Egypt, the IMO, and the Arab Academy have reached an agreement and signed a Memorandum of Understanding in London on 27th November 2015 to ensure the promotion of the multiple facets of technical cooperation among developing countries.
