The full program comprises 8 semesters, the first four academic semesters are in the Basic Nautical Studies Department, followed by two Guided Sea-Training Semesters (third year), followed by two semesters (7th and 8th) in the Maritime Transport Technology Department in compliance with the STCW convention, 1978, as amended and IMO Model Courses, to become competent deck officer.
Five core subjects dedicated for Second Mate Certificate preparation introduced on the 8th semester with a maritime safety and environmental protection course leading to the issue of the mandatory courses required to that certification level.
Other core subjects in the 7th semester are introduced to upgrade the knowledge of graduates in nautical science.
Seven Elective courses offered to students to choose one of them covering a wide range of the industry sectors related to Management, Operation and other specialties as Marine Survey, Hydro Graphic Survey, Commercial Maritime Law, Maritime Security and Maritime Economics.
Seven Elective courses offered in the 8th semester in Management, Marketing, Finance, Maritime Insurance and Offshore Technology.
