Participation of Prof. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy in the 2024 Annual Forum Organized by the MEDPORTS Association in Collaboration with the Port of Malta

With the aim of opening new horizons for cooperation between the Institute and the Mediterranean ports, and within the framework of strengthening cooperation with ports in the northern and southern Mediterranean, and in the presence of members of the MEDPORTS Association, including port authorities from the northern and southern Mediterranean, Professor Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute & Maritime Research & Consultation Center, AASTMT, participated on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the seminar organized by the MEDPORTS Association in collaboration with the Port of Malta, titled: “MEDPorts Resilience in Today’s Agitated Waters”

He participated in the forum with a session titled: “Ports Employability in a Transforming Industry”where he presented a presentation titled: "A future outlook for re-mapping employment in port cities"

During the session, he provided insightful ideas on the future expectations for re-mapping employment in port cities, focusing on reshaping employment plans within port cities. He outlined a roadmap to achieve this goal and presented the best practices of the Port Training Institute as a leading institution in this initiative.

This session also featured speakers from the Barcelona Port Training Center, the Port of Nouakchott in Mauritania, and others from Malta, with the session chaired by the Valencia Port Training Center.

It is noteworthy that the Port Training Institute is a regional center for the MEDPORTS Association for the southern Mediterranean and plays a pivotal role in the Mediterranean region in the field of human resource development and qualification. It also holds memberships in several international and regional organizations.
