Visit of H.E. Ambassador Ali Abdi, Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Institute received H.E. Ambassador Ali Abdi, Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, along with his accompanying delegation.

H.E. Ambassador was welcomed by Prof.. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, Dean of Port Training Institute and the Maritime Research and Consultation Center, along with the heads of responsibility centers at the Institute.

During the meeting, Prof. Alaa Morsy gave a presentation on the Institute’s capabilities, services, and partnerships at the local, regional, and international levels, as well as the Institute’s role in enriching the ports and maritime transport sector with training programs that keep pace with global trends. Mechanisms for joint cooperation in training, exchange of expertise, and technical qualification were also discussed, in a way that supports integration efforts between the two sides and contributes to the development of human resources at the training level.

The visit included a field tour inside the Institute that covered:
The integrated simulation complex for cranes and trucks,
Technical workshops and training laboratories.

A comprehensive presentation of the Institute's capabilities in capacity building and training of technical and administrative staff in the maritime transport sector.
 

 During the visit, H.E. Ambassador praised the advanced training capabilities of the Institute and its prominent role in qualifying maritime and logistics personnel at both the regional and international levels.

He also stressed the importance of opening broad horizons for cooperation with the ports and maritime transport sector in the Republic of Somalia, especially in the areas of training and capacity building.
