Objectives
- To review and provide the knowledge to support the training outcomes related to Cargo Handling and stowage at the management level. rn- At the end of the course, students will be able to review the following : rnDescribe the organization of UN & IMO rnDescribe the steps of issuing a convention and / or code rnDescribe the steps of amending regulations rnDefine types of amendments rnClassify the types of conventions with respect to topics e.g. Maritime safety rnDemonstrate ability to effect reference in and between conventions / codes rnState types of organizations.rn- The syllabus provides the background knowledge to support the tasks, duties and responsibilities in:rn- Planning, safe loading, unloading and Care during the voyage of liquid cargoes in bulk form. rn- The carriage gas and chemical cargoes.rn- This includes topics such as loading and discharging of oil in tankers and tanker operation and carriage of dangerous, harmful cargoes. rnrn
