• • Knowledge and understanding the main principle operation of the electronic systems of position fixing and navigation, the echo-sounders and speed measurement.rn• Knowledge and understanding the main of the principles capability and limitations of ECDIS operations rn• Knowledge of the basic theory of earth’s magnetism and the magnetic compass, its component, and different sources of errors because of ship’s magnetism with regard of a well-placed compass.rn• Knowledge of the basic theory of the gyro scope and how the gyro scope convert to gyro compass
