Program Description

The humanities department serves as a base for students to become familiar with the many courses that will aid them in deciding which department to join. They have the option of enrolling in the Media department's several tracks or the Language and Translation department's. For graduates of both areas of the CLC, there are several employment prospects. The graduates will be well-equipped to work in a variety of companies and agencies as translators, interpreters, journalists, content creators, photographers, TV presenters, graphic designers, cinematographers, producers, and art directors.

Learning Outcomes

  • • During their first year of study, students in the humanities department are exposed to a variety of talents. Students can build a solid basis for self-awareness by taking these foundational courses. For instance, the Listening and Speaking course helps students develop their listening and note-taking abilities, get over their fear of speaking in front of an audience, and identify relevant content in conversation. The Introduction to Literary Texts and Novel courses help students hone their analytical and critical thinking abilities. In the Essay Writing course, students learn the fundamentals of academic writing and are exposed to the field of Phonetics, where they learn about the speech organs, the pronunciation of English sounds, and the phonetic transcription of English words. The Translation 1 course is extremely beneficial to students since it teaches them about the many theories of translation and how to use them when translating materials in various industries. The college is also well-equipped with a photography studio, a multimedia studio, and the plateau, which makes learning easier overall and is especially beneficial in courses like Introduction to Mass Communication and Introduction to Radio and TV, where students are taught a variety of skills like script writing, editing, and broadcasting. The most recent software and tools, including Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop, are taught to students. Additionally, while the theatre course explores the anthology of drama, students are introduced to performative arts both theoretically and practically.
