Program Description

The Information Systems program focuses on the study of technology and its application to managing and utilizing information within organizations. The program typically covers a range of topics, including database management, programming, systems analysis and design, network management, cybersecurity, and project management. Students learn how to leverage technology to collect, store, process, and distribute information effectively to support decision-making and operational processes within an organization.

Learning Outcomes

  • The graduates of the Information Systems program at CCIT, within five years of graduation, are expected to: 1-(PEO1) Succeed in their career in Information Systems through their contributions to an organization, society and economic development. 2-(PEO2) Advance their technical skills by adopting emerging IS methodologies and technologies and/or pursuing graduate studies. 3-(PEO3) Further develop their communication, teamwork, and time management skills and demonstrate their aptitude to work in accordance with ethical, legal, and societal considerations. The program educational objectives (PEOs) support the missions of both the institution and the college.

Markets and Career

  • Systems analysts, or business analysts, have the role of analyzing, understanding, and improving business processes and systems in order to support effective decision-making and drive organizational success. 2-Database administrator: The role of a database administrator is to manage and optimize the storage, organization, and accessibility of data within a database system. 3-A web designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly websites by designing layouts, selecting color schemes, and incorporating interactive elements to enhance the user experience.
