Objectives

  • This course provides students with solid instruction on the history of conservation archaeological pottery and glass, the different techniques, tools, equipment, and materials. This course is focused mainly on conservation and restoration of ancient pottery and gives a basic introduction to the restoration and conservation of glass and glazed objects. The course provides ample practical training for the students using different replicas. The course will also discuss thoroughly the different methods of objects exhibition in museums and storage. In addition, how large amounts of pottery and potsherds can be accessible for scholars.
