The Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Unit of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport has established a protocol for collaboration with University of Cologne. A summer school has been established between Cologne and Aswan since 2017. Currently, we are negotiating the proposed bachelor’s degree of archaeology and cultural heritage as a dual degree between the Arab Academy and University of Cologne pending the approval of the Supreme Council of Education permission to start the program. This will elevate the level of education in upper Egypt and create an international hub for research in Aswan. The dual degree will comeconvenient based on the recent calls of President Abdelfattah al-Sisi on working to elevate the level of education through dual degrees and academic partnerships.
