The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport signed a protocol with University of Oxford between the ‘archaeology and cultural heritage unit’ and the ‘Endangered Archaeology of the Middle East and North Africa Project (EAMENA)’. This cooperation focuses on helping the completion of translation of the EAMENA database and website into Arabic and delivering advanced training courses on database management to Egyptian archaeologists and students. The training includes satellite image interpretation and mapping skills, GIS, data standards for Historic Environment Record system, record creation, threat assessment, online database use, spatial analysis and cultural heritage management.
