Description

This course will focus on the product development of biological products, peptides and peptidomimetics in the biopharmaceutical industry. Biotechnology concerning their production and formulation and new delivery systems will be discussed in this course. The student will be introduced to many research methodologies, such as, molecular biology, monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, molecular engineering, gene therapy, and economic issues. The course also involves the challenges regarding discovery research, development, formulations and manufacturing, regulatory, government, marketing, costs, and business issues in the creation of these new products.
