In the Logistics and Supply Chain Management department, students will engage with a variety of software tools across different courses to enhance their practical skills and theoretical understanding. During Term 1, they will utilize Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, in their Introduction to Information Systems course to develop documentation and presentation skills. In Term 2, they will employ Excel for Logistics Operation Management and SPSS for Statistics to handle data analysis and statistical computations. In Term 3, students will continue using Excel in their Operations Research course for optimization and modelling tasks. By Term 4, they will be introduced to Odoo, an open-source ERP software, in their LIS course, providing hands-on experience with integrated business applications. Term 5 focuses on Inventory Management, where Excel is again used for managing and analysing inventory data. In Term 6, students return to Odoo in the Supply Chain Systems course to further their proficiency in comprehensive ERP solutions. Term 7 introduces more complex modelling with Excel and a version of Pro-model for Supply Chain Modelling, enabling students to simulate and optimize supply chain processes. Finally, in Term 8, they will explore customer relationship management using Zoho CRM, gaining insight into managing customer interactions and data effectively. Through these diverse software tools, students will acquire essential technical skills pertinent to the logistics and supply chain industry.
The computer labs are under the supervision of the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and managed by the head of Administrative Affairs, supported by computer technicians.
