Smart Village Library

The Smart Village Library at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) provides academic resources and information services to support teaching, learning, and research across the College of Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) and other colleges at the Smart Village Campus.

The library accommodates up to 65 users and houses a diverse collection of approximately 3,698 books, including 2,341 English titles and 857 Arabic titles, in addition to 500 master's and doctoral theses. It also subscribes to 15 scientific journals and magazines, providing access to a range of academic and professional publications. The library is equipped with eight computers offering internet access, online library resources, and Microsoft Office applications.

Digital Resources and Research Databases

To support academic study and research in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and related computing disciplines, the library provides access to a wide range of digital resources through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB). These resources include scientific publications, conference papers, electronic books, and research databases from leading academic publishers and providers, including IEEE, Emerald, Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect, JSTOR, Springer Nature, EBSCO, and ProQuest.

Students, faculty members, and researchers can use these resources to explore recent technological developments, support coursework and graduation projects, conduct literature reviews, and advance their research activities.

Research Support and Library Services

The library provides research support services through its dedicated email address, svlibrary@aast.edu, where students and faculty members can submit requests for articles, research papers, theses, and other academic materials. Requests are generally processed within 48 hours, subject to availability and service conditions.

An online Open Access search platform is also available, allowing users to search for books held at the Smart Village Campus Library and across AASTMT branches. This service helps users locate relevant academic materials and identify resources available throughout the Academy.

Inter-Branch Library Services

Through an internal network connecting AASTMT library branches across Egypt, users can request books from other campus libraries when the required materials are unavailable locally. Requested books are generally made available within 48 hours, subject to availability and the applicable borrowing regulations.
