Program Description

The Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design Department has a strong history of practice-oriented education that has expanded to include in depth issues of environmental design and built environment. The Architectural Engieering and Environmental Design Department offers a doctoral degree in Architectural Engieering and Environmental Design with four different fields. The fields of architecture, interior architecture, Urban Planning and urban design, and finally building technology.

Learning Outcomes

  • The proposed PhD program focuses on the role of researchers in the different fields of architecture to contribute to the development of society and culture. The department also focuses on studies that deal with the required development of architecture, and the Egyptian cities, with great concern to the regional and global problems. The objectives of the Ph.D. program in Architectural Engineering and Environmental Design is to provide in-depth training to researchers in the different fields of modern architecture, interior architecture, urban planning and design, and building technology. The primary goal of the program is to provide students with an opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the different fields of architecture and the related built-environment sciences. The program caters to demands of industry and research community and places a strong emphasis on originality and rigorous scientific methods

Markets and Career

  • The program produces experts in research areas of generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical power. The program is designed to develop outstanding scholars for careers in research and teaching at leading academic institutions throughout the world. It provides post-master’s applicants the opportunity to study in a broad range of areas, many of which overlap with other disciplines within the college and AAST.

Admission Requirements

The applicant must hold a M.Sc. degree in an engineering discipline from a university accredited from the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities. The applicant must pass an interview held by the department.

Each specialization is fitted with a number of tailored elective courses that prepare A researcher may take no more than 3 courses per semester (2 Core courses + 1 elective course). PhD students may register in level 800 courses only, and previously taken courses in levels 600 and/or 700 can not replace level 800 coursesresearcher for their role in knowledge development and progress..
