Description

This course aims to appraise critically theories and models of organizations and how they work, and to explore a variety of supporting systems including their impact on people. The course will include the opportunity to use diagnostic processes for assessing organizational effectiveness. Students will be encouraged to use their own experiences in organizations to inform both oral and written work.

  • By completing this course, students will be able to: • Gather, analyze, and evaluate Leadership concepts into useful and actionable information. • Critically evaluate the role of leaders in influencing innovation and change in organizations. • Evaluate critically different contemporary perspectives on organizational leadership and leadership behaviors for enhancing individual learning and development. • Employ theoretical and conceptual knowledge in the identification and analysis of leadership and management concepts, theories, and frameworks in terms of business viability and sustainability. • Demonstrate an understanding of a range of theories of group and team behavior, and team development. • Identify and place into practice leadership behaviors and information-based decision-making approaches to business and managerial problems. • Interpret and analyze complex business and management issues from multiple perspectives and applying proven leadership theoretical and conceptual knowledge of global business challenges in multicultural contexts. • Demonstrate how leaderships approaches operate effectively within a multicultural environment demonstrating teambuilding and intercultural communication.
