Description

This course is intended to familiarize students with different planning and budgeting models and alternative theories of change and will become competent at analyzing data to improve decision making and organizational performance that supports the achievement of organizational goals. In addition to making the students acquainted with the core tasks needed for effective financial planning and the fundamental skills needed for effective budgeting in diverse organizations. Moreover, the course discusses techniques of administrative planning, budget preparation and control systems.

Objectives

  • This course aims to make students aware with knowledge about the planning process; concepts budgets; annual profit and supporting tables plans; types of budgets and also budgets based on activities, the draft budget, flexible budgeting, planning and analysis at higher levels, forecasting, through quantitative methods such as regression analysis and learning curves. Therefore, by the end of this course, students should be able to: • Identify the main types of budgets • Explain forecasting techniques. • Understand budgeting methodologies. • Evaluate targets to reach achievable profitable goals. • Develop forecasted financial statements. • Create annual profit plans. • Analyze research and development of long term budgets. • Manage capital expenditures in long term planning.
