This course aims to enable student to analyze the components of the hospitality and tourism industry while identifying potential career paths within this industry. The student will be introduced to entities within the hospitality industry and develop an understanding of tourism impact on local economies.

  •  Identify the different components of the hospitality and tourism industry and how they are interconnected.  Recognize the impacts of the tourism industry.  Identify the tourism and hospitality organizations.  Apply learned management techniques in tourism and hospitality operations management and supervision.  Explore and present current topics, issues, and trends affecting the hospitality and tourism industry.  Demonstrate the skills to appropriately locate, evaluate and use relevant information related to cases in tourism and hospitality management.  Develop superior capacity for analytical and critical thinking and for creative problem-solving in tourism and hospitality management.  Apply advanced skills required for complex collaborative work in your team and group along with a multidisciplinary approach to tourism and hospitality management.  Apply the conceptual tools of case method to a wide variety of international tourism and hospitality organizations and enterprises.  Utilize effective time management, communication, supervisory, and problem resolution skills to work successfully in the hospitality and tourism industry.  Understand the range of local and international issues facing tourism and hospitality.  Demonstrate awareness of the importance of cultural sensitivity and social responsibility tourism and hospitality.
