Last Wednesday the students of CMT Smart Village were honoured by the presence of Dr Beshai who delivered a very interesting session on Economics together with Dr Amr Hamed
Dr. Adel Beshai is Professor of Economics at the American University in Cairo. He holds a masters degree in Economics from Stanford University, and a doctorate degree from Oxford Uniuversity. Apart from his teaching career at AUC , he served in the 1970s as Assistant to the Secretary General of the United Nations World Food Conference of 1974, and spent two years thence in actively galvanizing the international community and OPEC countries that resulted in the creation of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He served as consultant in FAO, ILO, IFAD. He taught as visiting Professor in universities in England. Italy and Austria. He was a member if the upper house of parliament in Egypt (the Shura Council) for six years (1998 - 2004). His record is rich in publications.
