Transport Logistics Management

Transport is a backbone of the world global trade and it is a growing source of complex challenges for the future. The Transport Logistics Management department was established as the first professional department in the Middle East specialized in transport logistics operations and business. The primary purpose for the TLM Department is to develop the understanding of transport operations and the related logistics activities, also to develop skills and best practices amongst transport professionals and decision makers.

The TLM Department makes a significant contribution to resolving the skills deficiency faced by the transport logistics sector. Throughout the years, TLM courses have developed to reflect the rapidly changing nature of the transport logistics management sector to equip the students for their professional careers. The TLM course portfolio spans across the principles of transport, logistics operations management, transport modeling, multimodal transport chain, planning and sustainability.

The courses take students across wide variety of modules within a range of contemporary research topics that can be supervised by professional bodies. TLM students are taught and directed by staff that are not only at the front of academic researcher, but also have practical experience as advisers and consultants to high profile organizations. Equipping students with the vocational skills they need to secure employment and develop a promising career is at the core of the TLM mission.

 

Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The logistics and supply chain management major is an integrated program of study concerned with the integration of business processes across organizations, from material sources and suppliers through manufacturing and processing to the final customer. This major provides students with the core knowledge related to a wide variety of supply chain activities, including demand planning, purchasing, inventory control, distribution, information technology, and global supply chain management. Lectures and applications in this major highly rely on up-to-date materials, case studies, field visits and projects that would prepare students to work in the very competitive and lucrative fields of supply chain management. The supply chain management major prepares students for a broad career field, where professionals are involved in every step of the process in providing goods to the consumer, from the time when materials are grown in the ground or mined from it, until they appear on the retail store shelves. Graduates with a supply chain major are likely to work in any of these key areas: materials and procurement, logistics, supply chain management, inventory management, operations, distribution, sales and customer service and consulting.

 

Logistics of International Trade Management

Logistics of International Trade department provides global businesses with trained graduates who have the necessary skills to contribute effectively to the expanding international trading environment. The central focus of the curriculum is to provide practical "how to" industry knowledge and managerial skills needed by executives as they conduct international trade, move goods and services across national boundaries, and manage day to day operations. A bachelor degree in Logistics of International Trade will open the path to highly diverse career options in International Trade Logistics Management fields, such as maritime industry, logistics service providers, stock market, banking, insurance, import and export, and many other positions in finance, marketing, consultancy and management.
