This Course Aims to Introduce the International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea, 1972,rnrecognition and identification of buoys, Bridge resource management and the prevention and controlrnof pollution. The course aims to introduce to the students the necessary skills for Maintaining a safernnavigational watch. In addition, the Course Aims to support the knowledge of communicationsrnbased on all relevant IMO resolutions and guidelines available at the time, to meet the mandatoryrnrequirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in Table A-II/1 of STCW as amended.rn(Manila, 2010), for Function 3: Controlling the Operation of the Ship at the Operational Level.rn

Recognize the different types of Buoyage systems.rn4. Understand Bridge teamwork procedures .rn5. Be Familiar with MARPOL convention .rn6. Understand the measures to be taken in case of emergency.rnB. Intellectual SkillsrnThe course provides students with:rn1. Analyze data available to avoid collision following rules of the road applications.rn2. Recognize the risk of collision and close quarter situations.rn3. Understand the bridge resource management.rn4. Integrate multidisciplinary approaches to identify novel challenges and provide solutionsrninteracting with others.rnC. Professional and Practical skillsrnAt the end of the course, students should be able to :rn1. Demonstrate sailing at traffic separation schemes .rn2. Take actions to Avoid Collision in different cases.rn3. Recognize the actions taken in various situations and weather conditions.rn4. Understand the proper procedures of Bridge Team Management at sea.rnD. General and Transferable skillsrnAt the end of the course, students should be able to :rn1. Be familiar with International and/or National regulations, legislation and conventions.rn2. Recognize the lights and shapes to be displayed by various types of vessel in differentrncircumstances.rn3. Communicate, interact and work creatively and flexibly with others on board.
