IDC Objectives

One of the most important objectives of the information and Documentation Center is to use the latest technologies in information technology to achieve excellence in providing services to keep pace with the global trend in quality. This was done through the stages of development of the Information Center at the Academy.

The first stage (from 1983 to 1992)

The Information Center at the Academy was established in 1983 to develop management information systems that belong to various organizational divisions.the Academy administration has adopted from the first day of the establishment of the center an important principle is the need to rely on its children in the construction and development of these systems in order to ensure their conformity with the work systems of the academy and the continuation of their maintenance and development without relying on external companies operating in this field.
The basic premise behind the development of Information Systems at that time was the operational one, which ensures the speed and accuracy of performance despite the steady increase in the volume of data, which happened as a natural result of the increase in the activities of the academy and its continuous expansion. During this period, many Management Information Systems were developed, including admission, registration, financial system, personnel affairs and salaries system ... etc.

The Second stage (from 1992 to 1998)

With the increase in the actual practice of using the information systems that have been developed, the urgent need for integration and interconnection between these systems has emerged, and it has become necessary to view the administrative work of the academy as a single system consisting of a set of subsystems, instead of looking at each department as an independent system. The dependence of departments on the use of computers led to an increase in the volumes of stored data and the inability of devices at that time to absorb the available data. All these reasons, in addition to the Academy's move to its new headquarters in Abu Qir, led to the need to develop the Information Center in terms of hardware, software used, and developed systems.

The third stage (from 1999 to 2004)

Since the beginning of 1996, the Academy has witnessed a significant expansion in the establishment of many faculties and branches, as well as in the number of students admitted to undergraduate and graduate studies and the number of trainees in the inevitable courses, qualifying studies and various programs.this expansion has led to an increase in administrative activities at the level of all departments and departments, which in turn led to an increase in the demand by employees to use computers to complete their work with the required speed and accuracy in addition to facing the problem of the year 2000.

The Fourth stage (from 2005 to 2009)

During this period, the Academy witnessed the expansion of many headquarters and faculties, which required the center to use Internet applications (Web Applications) to keep pace with this expansion and facilitate the various academic sectors in doing business.

The Fifth stage (from 2010 to 2013)

This stage witnessed the expansion of the development of internet applications and the Academy's website and the provision of distinctive electronic services through the internet to employees and students, which led to the expansion of the user based for applications.

The Sixth stage (from 2014 to 2023)

This stage has witnessed the expansion of the development of mobile applications as well as the automation of bussiness workflows at the Academy in addition to electronic archiving, which led to the expansion of the information center infrastructure.
