The Maritime Safety Institute (MSI) section delivers practical safety related courses which utilise a diverse range of facilities and equipment. Comprising a variety of full and part time lecturers supported by technicians and technician instructors, MSI staff comes from diverse commercial maritime or offshore industry backgrounds with relevant experience to support course delivery.

All classroom-based theory is delivered in the maritime safety institute building, which features twelve air conditioned classrooms equipped with teaching aids including data shows and other visual aids to support delivery of the courses.

All practical aspects are delivered in site of the MSI using either the Pool Area, Fire Ground & Sea side located off site which meets the requirements of all course accrediting bodies.
