On April 22, 2024, the South Valley branch in Aswan received the Ministers of International Cooperation and Social Solidarity, the Governor of Aswan, the EU Ambassador, and the Head of the World Food Programme in Egypt.
The branch of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in South Valley received Dr. Rania Al-Mashat - Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Nevine El-Kabbaj - Minister of Social Solidarity, Major General Ashraf Attia - Governor of Aswan, Ambassador Christian Berger - Head of the European Union Delegation, Mr. Gian Pietro Bordino - Head of the World Food Programme in Egypt, and Professor Dr. Ayman Osman - President of Aswan University.
The visit was welcomed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Wahid Abdel Bari, Vice President of the Academy for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Professor Attallah Hashad, Director of the Academy's Aswan Branch, on behalf of His Excellency Professor Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport.
The visit comes to inspect and monitor the community service being provided on the ground at the academy for our brothers from Sudan, in terms of enhancing competencies and preparing for integration and rehabilitation upon their return, through programs designed and implemented by the academy's family in collaboration with the World Food Programme and the European Union.
During this time, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, praised in his speech, delivered on his behalf by Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Wahid Abdel Bari, Vice President of the Academy for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, the developmental role played by the Academy for all the sons of the Arab nation, especially the groups most in need of support and care, in cooperation and coordination with the responsible authorities within the Arab Republic of Egypt, including the relevant ministries and governorates.
His Excellency also emphasized the importance of achieving the academy's strategic goals through economic and international diplomacy, in terms of cooperation with local and international partners, foremost among them the European Union and the United Nations, thereby realizing the academy's most important goals, which are global outreach and fulfilling responsibilities.
His Excellency also praised the continuous cooperation with the World Food Programme over the past seven consecutive years as a success story with one of the United Nations organizations.
Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar expressed his gratitude to the entire family of the South Valley Academy for the excellent organization of this extraordinary event.
