First Patch: Challenge Patch (Spring 2020)

 

 

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the College of Language and Media at the Smart Village branch was honored to launch its first electronic scientific forum “Media and Human Development” to discuss the graduation projects of the first batch of male and female students of the College of Language and Media Spring 2020 under the supervision of the founding dean The college is Professor Dr. Hanan Youssef.

For the first time in graduation projects, students implemented their projects individually and professionally under exceptional circumstances that Egyptian academic institutions had not witnessed before due to the spread of the Corona pandemic and the continuation of electronic education and produced them entirely “from home” in implementation and in response to the preventive precautionary measures taken by the state and the academy to limit the increase in the number of infected people. with the virus. The projects, which include 27 individual productions, covered four main axes that deal with one main idea consistent with the orientations of the Egyptian state and Arab action as a strategic goal that helps achieve the requirements of sustainable development.

The forum’s project arbitration committees included a group of the most prominent academics in media sciences, including former deans of media faculties, professional practitioners from former ministers, as well as experts who head important media sites. A number of international guests of honor witnessed its work. The first forum was divided into four specialized arbitration committees.

 The press committee included Prof. Dr. Laila Abdel-Meguid, professor of journalism and former dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, journalist writer Mr. Helmy El-Namnam, former Minister of Culture, and journalist writer Mr. Mahmoud Mosallam, editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper and head of the DMC channel network.

The Radio and Television Committee included Dr. Maggie Al-Halawani, Professor of Radio and Television and former Dean of the Faculty of Information, Cairo University, and the media, Dr. Doria Sharaf El-Din, former Minister of Information.

The advertising committee consisted of Dr. Ali Ajwa, professor of public relations and former dean of Cairo media, and Dr. Hazem Deraa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Look” Advertising Agency.

As for the Cinema Committee, it included Dr. Ayman Al-Shewi, professor of theater and dean of the Faculty of Cinematic and Dramatic Arts at Badr University, artist Elham Shaheen and director Omar Abdel Aziz.

The college administration also invited international guests of honor to participate in the arbitration work from Sweden and Canada, where the students’ works are discussed by Dr. Thomas Brennan, Professor of Image at Stockholm University of the Arts, Sweden, Dr. Kristi Grunditz, Professor of Film Industry at Stockholm University of the Arts, Sweden, and Professor Artur Palma Mengiu, Professor of Film and Television at Sheridan University. in Canada.

The main themes of the graduation projects are: the role of the word in building personality, the human personality in its relationship to the environment and sustainable development, cultural diversity and the unity of a common destiny, and the human personality in facing the effects of globalization and technology. The projects included all media such as press, radio, television, advertisements and websites.

 

 

Second Patch (Spring 2021) 

 

 

 

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, the third scientific forum was launched within the framework of arbitration for the graduation projects of the third batch of the Faculty of Language and Media in the Smart Village Branch, Spring 2021, under the title “Building and Growing” Media and Development Goals sustainable 2030.

A high-level jury of senior ministers, ambassadors, media professionals and artists discussed the Spring 2021 graduation class students at the Faculty of Language and Media in the Smart Village branch, whose projects centered on "Media and Sustainable Development Goals." The arbitration panel consisted of His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Al-Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and supervisor of the media sector, Ambassador Moushira Khattab, former Minister of State for Family and Population, and His Excellency Ambassador Nada Al-Ajizi: Director of the Sustainable Development Department - League of Arab States and Prof. Dr. Hassan Imad Makkawi, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University (formerly), Prof. Dr. Hanan Junaid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University, the great journalist Dr. Ibrahim El-Kardani - former media spokesperson for the World Health Organization-United Nations, and Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Shewi, Dean of the Faculty of Cinema and Theater at Badr University and the film director Hani Lashin and the well-known screenwriter Amr Mahmoud Yassin.

 

  

 

  

 

  

 

  

In light of the keenness of Professor Dr. Hanan Youssef, Dean of the College of Language and Media, to keep abreast of graduation projects with global developments and the strategic goals of the headquarters country, the students’ projects focused on the relationship between media and the concept and goals of sustainable development 2030, those strategic goals adopted by all Arab countries and placed at the top of their list of priorities in order to enhance The status of the Arab person and achieving his development at all levels of life.

The students' projects carried the slogan "Build and Grow" in order to achieve growth and prosperity for our Egyptian and Arab society. Among the projects that were discussed was the documentary film "Place of Egypt: The Witch of Hearts", which sheds light on the different lives of people in wild cities and discusses several issues, including fresh water, desert and mountains, razing agricultural lands, reclamation of other lands, animals that help the farmer, and handicrafts. Hunting, the film shows the real life of people in their daily lives. The short film "Speak Until I See You" was also discussed, which revolves around the issue of mental health in the work environment and the impact of mental health on individual production in general, because the basis for sustainable development is the productive individual in society. In addition to the films, the idea of ​​gender equality was presented through the “Originally a Human” project. The idea of ​​the project revolves around achieving the fifth goal of the sustainable development goals through electronic publishing through more than one medium to achieve the goals of the campaign and raise awareness of the issue of gender equality through Social networking sites (Facebook - Instagram - Twitter). Finally, the TV program project "An Opportunity for Life" was discussed, which is consistent with peace, justice and strong institutions as one of the most important goals of sustainable development.
