Knowledge and Understanding 1.1 List the stages of the news production as a generic process. 1.2 Trace the various stages and responsibilities in the production of a news broadcast. 1.3 Define the process of transforming events through systematic criteria into news that is publishable in the media. 1.4 Understand the appropriate production techniques to create a media work. 1.5 Determine the process of the development of a story narrative as well as its narrative context. 1.6 Understand the techniques effective speakers use to make convincing presentations. 1.7 Recognize the conventions of broadcast news and appropriate techniques to produce a news segment. 2. Intellectual Skills 2.1 Analyze and observe newsworthy information acceptable by professional journalism standards. 2.2 Develop writing, presenting and reporting stories for television. 2.3 Analyze and critique editorial and formatting decisions about news coverage, stories, and presentation. 2.4 Analyze Pre-Production, Production & Post-Production of News Bulletin. 2.5 Organize reporters, anchors, writers, editors and many others under deadline pressure. 2.6 Interpret fundamental concepts and theories in the presentation of news. 3. Objectives

  • This course provides the students with the principles of writing news and information for Radio, TV, Podcasts, and Livestreaming, emphasizing on the fundamentals of television studio production. This course allows the students to gain practical experience in media news gathering, working as part of a team to produce news reports and complete newscast that includes material such as sports coverage, weather forecasts, traffic reports, political commentary, expert opinions, editorial content, and other material that is relevant to the audience. Students would be able to know the role and responsibilities of the broadcast journalist in covering issues and will acquire the ability to know writing, presenting and reporting stories for television. Students will learn various stages of production of a video program. At the end of the class, students will be prepared for real newsroom and field experience by offering them a chance to produce and direct news productions.
