The TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program) is an affordable, paper-based or digital English proficiency test for non-native speakers (ages 16+) used by institutions for placement, monitoring, and admissions. It tests listening, structure/written expression, and reading, lasting under 2 hours, with scores valid for 2 years.

Purpose: ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Primarily used by universities, language programs, and schools for internal placement or proficiency tracking. ​​​​​​​

Format:

Multiple-choice questions, either paper-based or digital. 

Sections:

· Listening Comprehension: 50 questions, ~35 minutes.
· ​​​​​​​Structure and Written Expression: 40 questions, ~25 minutes.
· ​​​​​​​Reading Comprehension: 50 questions, ~55 minutes. 

Total Time: 

Approximately 115 minutes (1 hour 55 minutes).​​​​​​​

Score Scale:

Total score ranges from 310 to 677. ​​​​​​​


Validity: ​​​​​​​

Scores are valid for 2 years.
